For my final blog post, I had this big thank you letter written to Aggie but accidentally deleted it. So now I am going to write something a little bit more exciting! The holidays!!! December has a lot of fun days coming up!! For starters it is Christmastime so listening to Christmas music is one of my favorite things to do in the car and studying for exams. During December there are a few other celebrations. My twin, Andrea and I are celebrating our 21st birthday on Dec.20 and my mom’s birthday is Dec.26! Those will be great celebrations with a lot of adult beverages.
I am a huge fan of
traditions or yearly events especially during the holiday season. One of the
things my family does is drive around the neighborhood or a light display and
see all the pretty lights and set ups. I went with Zach and a couple of friends
this past weekend to the Upper Sandusky lights! They did not disappoint. I am
looking forward to seeing new light displays in our new neighborhood and going
to see the Olentangy lights and trying to make it to the Columbus Zoo.
One of my favorite
holiday traditions is getting new Christmas pajamas on Christmas Eve after we
go to church. It gets us all nice and cozy for the sleep and fun day ahead.
This year I ordered matching pajama pants for the family plus Zach. Another
favorite family tradition is baking old recipes like hard tack candy and peanut
brittle.
When Googling holiday traditions, I found this article from Parents Magazine talking about different traditions so I thought I would share some ideas I liked.
“Gift your child
an ornament every year, Start a silly ritual, Play tourist in your own town, What
are some of your holiday traditions, Watch the same holiday movie every year,
make your own Advent calendar, adopt a family through a charity”
What are your
favorite family traditions? What are you most looking forward to once exams are
over?
