Many say that you do not have the opportunity to meet life long friends right away in college. I do not believe that to be very accurate, I have met great friends, and their names are Kate and Shay! I initially met them over the freshman Facebook page of Ohio Northern, and we mutually followed each other on other social media platforms. Once we got on campus, we hit it off and became friends almost immediately. I formally introduced them to each other and introduced them to my twin sister, and we have been an unstoppable group ever since. Our favorite activities so far included: Movie nights, attempting to eat meals together as all of our schedules are different and going to many events and activities on campus! We all have the same wild personality but also know when it is time to work and get business done.
Kate is a Musical Theater and History Education double major with the hopes of performing for a while than settling down and beginning her teaching career!
Shay is a Music Education Major with her emphasis on vocal with the hopes to teach at a school and run their music department.
My twin Andrea is a Political Science and History double major with the hope of going into state or national government!
Yes, it is practically the third week of college, but I have found some astounding life long and amazing friends!

Alyson,
ReplyDeleteI thought to same exact thing coming in my freshmen year. I figured well I'm from out of state, they're going to think I'm weird or different so maybe I won't make friends as easy. I took the advice of my RA who said "Try this, leave your door open, smile, and instead of walking past new people with your head down, look up and say 'hey'."This proved to be very effective as I met some of my best friends even now in my junior year not long after. College has a funny way of connecting us to the right people and although we didn't know them all our lives, the short time in college makes us feel as if we do.
