This week we had an assignment that involved Pinterest. For this assignment, we had to pin 10 posts on the topic of social media measurement. From there, we had to pick 3 concepts that included both information from our posts and incorporate it with what we have learned in both of our books. There were many pins that looked interesting to me and stood out for their own qualities. I personally have always used Pinterest in a personal way as a high schooler. In high school, it was looking up prom hairstyles or recipes to try with friends, fun crafts, or football theme ideas, Pinterest had everything we needed. I had not realized until this assignment; Pinterest can also be professional and have many articles that help not only social media measurement but many other jobs. One of the materials I found interesting and can be used for anyone using social media. In the article titled, Bad Social Media Habits You Need To Stop, the author highlights the bad habits that are seen by personal users every day. One that I see happen every day more than once a day is people thinking their social media is their diary. Yes, social media can be used as a form of expression and your ability to share who you are, but the specific details and constant posts can get much for your friends and family who follow you. You do not have to be a social media guru to follow the simple tips listed to enhance your own social media. Check out this article and share your opinions!
Being Klondike, the mascot here at Ohio Northern, is a big deal! It is a huge reveal when the persons who are Klondike graduate or end their Klondike careers. I have heard and have seen many pictures of the head reveal, and it is an exciting event for everyone. I happen to have a background as a mascot, and the hope to be Klondike one day is there. In my senior year of high school, no one was able to be our high school's mascot, Sparty the Spartan. There was one basketball game, and the opposing school had brought their mascot the Colt. I turned to my sister and our best friend Grace and said where's Sparty? I then ran over to my principal, who is a dear family friend to ask where Sparty was and that I wanted to be Sparty for the game. He laughed, and we went to get the outfit.
