There are many ways to catch up on the news especially if you have a busy day and you are on the go. After researching, here are a few you can try out. Some are ones I have learned from professors while others come from an article entitled 9 Easy Ways To Keep Up With Current Events As A Student. In the article they mention, Podcasts saying, “Yes, we’d all prefer to listen to fun podcasts like My Favorite Murder, but current events podcasts can be an excellent way to keep up to date with the news if you’re short on time.
The main benefit of
podcasts is that you can listen on the go. This means you can take a listen to
a quick podcast on a walk between lectures and come back super informed about
current events. So where can you find these news podcasts? Most podcast-streaming
platforms will have a ‘news’ section where you can view the most popular
current events podcasts. Here, you’ll find daily or weekly news podcasts
that give you a quick update of everything that’s happening in the news at the
moment. These podcasts only take 20 minutes or so to listen to each day – a
small commitment to keeping yourself informed.”
I have listened to a
good number of podcasts and I would even add news radio to the list as well. A
few I have listened to are NPR and the BBC.
The
article also mentions News apps saying, “Traditional news apps are one of the
most efficient ways to keep yourself up to date with current events.
The best part is that
most of the time you won’t even have to open the apps to keep up with important
news. Many news apps will now send you breaking news notifications whenever
there’s an important story and will outline the main points.”
I am all for news applications
and learn more credible information from them than I do from social media at
times. I recommend CNN, Apple News or even Google Alerts. Many of those options
have you pick what type of news is important to you so it can be personalized
and you just have to take a glance throughout the day.

I would love to
continue the conversation in the comments. How do you consume news on a busy
day?
Personally I LOVE a good podcast! I listen to a few girls in law school currently to see how their lives are before I decide to join in on the fun LOL. I also have a large variety of news platforms (all political affiliations) linked on my home screen so I can see all stories from all sides. After being a public relations major for a couple of years you find the joy in reading/researching today's news and that is how I find 90% of my information.
