Ohio State Football Game

Wow! The Buckeyes lost. For a buckeye fan, this hit hard. So this blog post we will be doing a breakdown of the game and more information on the rivalry. For starters, in my personal opinion, I think Ohio State played poorly. They did not come out of the gate strong and it could have been because they were in Ann Arbor and they could have been a little full of themselves expecting to win. Also the weather being 29 degrees and snowing was not helpful. When looking at commentators review of the game I found this article from CBS Sports and they say,    “ This was a dominant Michigan performance:  It wasn't a case of Michigan catching a break or two that decided the game or Ohio State having a bad day. Michigan was the better team from the jump and never took its foot off the gas. Every time Ohio State seemed to get a grip of the game, Michigan answered. Every time Ohio State needed a stop on defense, the Wolverines relied on their offensive line and running backs...

Black Friday

If you turn on the tv or any video streaming service, you will see the beginning of advertisements highlighting the Christmas season as well as Black Friday discounts. For today's blog post, I have decided to dive deeper into the history of Black Friday and tips tricks and deals this holiday season. Grab your shopping cart and you can add valuable information as we go. In an article from the Huff Post, it starts with the background information saying   Maybe you’re familiar with the wholesome origin story of Black Friday. It goes something like this: For years, tryptophan-happy shoppers would flood local shops and malls the day after  Thanksgiving , and that surge in spending was enough to put retailers “in the black for the year. Therefore, the Friday following Thanksgiving was dubbed “Black Friday,” and it became the unofficial start of the  holiday shopping season . “Black Friday” is t...

So Long Spooky Season

So Long Spooky Season             This past weekend was Halloween!! Friday night was a girls night! A group of friends and I went to two events on campus. The first was called A Haunted Walk sponsored by the student planning committee (SPC). This occurred out by the sand volleyball courts and we walked along the green monsters with spooky stores shared along the way. It was a good event, I would have loved to see it even more interactive but happy it was short as it was cold and rainy. The second event was Haunted Hill Sponsored by a Fraternity and History group on campus. It was a little spooky if I’m being honest. Friday night was a great time!             On Saturday My boyfriend Zach and I had a great time! We worked Admissions in the morning, then I went to the ONU volleyball game (which ONU won) and then I took a nap. Zach was on call so he stayed in his ...

How Do You Consume News?

There are many ways to catch up on the news especially if you have a busy day and you are on the go. After researching, here are a few you can try out. Some are ones I have learned from professors while others come from an article entitled 9 Easy Ways To Keep Up With Current Events As A Student. In the article they mention, Podcasts saying, “ Yes, we’d all prefer to listen to fun podcasts like  My Favorite Murder , but current events podcasts can be an excellent way to keep up to date with the news if you’re short on time. The main benefit of podcasts is that you can listen on the go. This means you can take a listen to a quick podcast on a walk between lectures and come back super informed about current events. So where can you find these news podcasts? Most podcast-streaming platforms will have a ‘news’ section where you can view the most popular current events podcasts. Here, you’ll find daily or weekly news podcasts that give you a quick update of everything ...

Happy Internship Season

October is early to be on the hunt for internships for summer 2022 but I have begun looking. Recently I added a Marketing major, and for that major, I need a Marketing internship credit so this summer I am looking for a Marketing internship specifically. Starting early will give me the opportunity to get my name out there and in many different pools and see what sticks. This is my second time looking for internships. I began my search for summer 2021 in January 2021 and accepted my internship in February so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to get an even earlier start on the search process.             One of my goals when doing internships is to try out all the areas I can and see what I like and what sparks my interest. My first internship was with Fahlgren Mortine an integrated communications company. This internship was with a firm, and I had the opportunity to work on over 23 clients in my short three months. Through my inte...
